Biography

Geneva born Mikaël Ivan Roost starts making films in 1995, at age 21.
He presents MORE THAN DREAMS, his first independent feature film, out of competition at the Locarno International Film Festival in 1998.
In 2000, he receives from the London Film School, a diploma in the Art & Technique of Filmmaking, while his first feature is broadcasted on Swiss Television (TSR).

From 2001 to 2003, Mikaël Ivan learns the basics of classical and digital animation in Canada, and makes three animated shorts, TOUCH THE CLOUDS (2002), A NIGHT IN THE SKY (2003) & METEORITE DE L’AMOUR (2004), which are either shown on a local or Swiss National Television channel.

Back in Geneva in 2003, he uses his newly acquired techniques in drawing and computers programs, to work on several graphic projects.

To celebrate his 30th birthday, he organises in 2004, a first retrospective exhibition of his artistic work in Geneva.

In 2006 he writes a new script and shoots L'OMBRE D'UN FEU (SHADOW OF A FIRE), a 30mn film produced by Pandora Films and Swiss Television.

Finally completed in 2008, the film is about to go to festivals...
